Think you’ve got a Daredevil?

Daredevils are the ultimate risk-takers who live life on the edge. They are daring and bold, and often think they are invincible (it helps if you’ve got nine lives). Highly alert and curious of their surroundings, they often hurt themselves falling from heights or just generally finding themselves between a rock and a hard place.

Daredevils are unpredictable and this often keeps mum and dad up at night, as you’ll never know what they’ll do next. Due to their fearless nature, they tend to overestimate their abilities.

Pet parents of Daredevils could find themselves at the vet for broken bones, claw injuries or lameness in the legs.

Meet Daredevil Milky, the 3-month-old Pomeranian who fell off the couch chasing the cat, fracturing her leg in August last year. To her pet owner’s dismay, Milky didn’t learn from her past experience and fell chasing the cat again just a few months later fracturing the same leg. For this second incident, the pet parent was up for a vet invoice of $4,878 but they were able to claim on the spot with GapOnly® and pay the difference of just $1,079.

Following treatment, Milky was soon back to her Daredevil self. Although she’s learnt her lesson from high-speed dog chasing, she’s still been busy running after pigeons, ingesting sharp plastics and picking fights with her four older (and much larger) feline siblings.

PetSure claims data shows the average claim amount relating to treatment for bone fracture for dogs in 2022 was $3,223 with an average benefit paid of $2,337 per case.
