Under the leadership of Dr. Andrea Barnard and Kate Pickersgill, Wagga Wagga Veterinary Hospital exemplifies the highest standards of veterinary excellence. Dr. Barnard’s recognition as a finalist for Woman Vet of the Year is a testament to her impact on both her team and the broader veterinary community. Reflecting on the experience, she shared:
“The warm fuzzy feelings reading through the award were pretty intense. There were some really wonderful videos and contributions and letters from colleagues, staff and clients, that contained things that I didn’t know I even did as a person, which was quite nice.”
She also spoke about the significance of the moment:
“To stand up on that stage next to some of what I would describe as giants in the industry and see the other wonderful things that they’ve done and hear it over a microphone, was awkward for me…But it was great, and it had a really good vibe that night. It was just a room full of wonderful people all celebrating the same thing.”
